The Haría City Council has "thrown away to the landfill" more than a ton of food from the food bank. This is what Nueva Canarias denounced this Wednesday, which claims that several neighbors have told them that last Friday that amount of "basic necessity" products, such as gofio, rice or flour, which were "in poor condition", were taken to the island landfill.
The formation explains that these foods are collected in the different pilgrimages held during the year, as well as in the sports events that take place in Haría and are subsequently deposited in warehouses located in the town of Mala.
"In a situation like the current one, it is unforgivable that, given the generosity of the citizens who selflessly donate all these foods to be destined to people with fewer economic resources, their end is the Lanzarote island landfill," laments Nueva Canarias.
According to the party, "nonsense and disorganization have unfortunately taken over the Haría City Council." In this sense, the formation alludes to "the events that occurred with the recent Pamela Festival denounced by the Civil Guard, the direct awards to members of the CC environment or the lowering of arms in the defense of the acquired rights of the northern municipality in La Cueva de Los Verdes".
