The Renovating Movement of Tinajo (MRT) has denounced this Thursday that "the municipal Government and its mayor are not complying with the plenary agreement unanimously approved in March 2021 at the request of a motion presented by the MRT spokesman, Antonio Morales, in which it was proposed that the City Council draft a plan for asphalt and re-asphalt of all the streets of the municipality of Tinajo that were in poor condition, and that said plan be executed in an integral way and include all the towns".

“Since then, what the local Government has done in recent months has been to take out several resurfacing lots in the municipality, but executing a couple of streets in one town, jumping to another town and executing another couple of streets, and the works are not even being completed in all the streets of each of the towns”, criticizes Morales, who regrets “the lack of coordination and the lack of planning that the municipal Government is demonstrating” when executing any work.

“On top of that, they are not warning the neighbors or signaling the works beforehand before executing them”, explains the MRT spokesman. “The mayor continues to act with occurrences and the workers have to knock on the doors of the neighbors so that they remove their vehicles first thing in the morning, just before starting the resurfacing tasks”, he warns.

Morales affirms that “many of the main streets are being left halfway, without applying any type of criteria or informing the affected neighbors beforehand”. “These are strategic routes in every sense, for the neighbors, the cyclists or the visitors themselves”, he laments.

The MRT councilor also warns that “again the City Council is resurfacing a few months before the next elections, when there are roads in the municipality that have been in terrible conditions for years but there is no resurfacing plan that is executed throughout the year”. In this sense, Antonio Morales denounces that the mayor and his government group are not “prioritizing in these issues for which the neighbors religiously pay their taxes, but are wasting on other aspects that are not so necessary”.

For all this, from the Renovating Movement of Tinajo they demand the mayor “to explain the reasons for this nonsense and this lack of planning”.

In Morales' opinion, “it is curious that the mayor goes to take photos of the streets that are being resurfaced, but that he is not capable of informing the affected neighbors beforehand”. Faced with this lack of planning, the mayor “again blames others, the companies or the technician on duty, but without ever assuming his own responsibility”. “On other occasions”, he adds, “the mayor hides behind excuses such as that the Island Planning Plan or the municipal planning do not allow this type of action when that is totally false, except in the case of natural areas”.
