The Renovating Movement of Tinajo denounces that "after almost two years of the current legislature, the municipality of Tinajo remains stagnant due to the lack of projects and ideas of the current municipal government. If we add the unfulfilled promises since 2015, it has already been 15 years without any relevant investment in the town, while the waste in superfluous expenses and the breach of current regulations accumulate."
"From the Renovating Movement of Tinajo, we denounce this situation of abandonment that our municipality is experiencing. We find it incomprehensible that not only have the promised investments not been executed, but, when asked in the past municipal plenary session, the mayor Jesús Machín admitted that there are no projects or budgets to carry them out", they say. “This demonstrates a serious lack of commitment and a deliberate strategy to deceive residents with empty promises during the electoral campaign”, laments Antonio Morales..
"Tinajo, which in the past was a leading municipality in the Canary Islands, is now mired in neglect due to the apathy and disinterest of the government team, with Mr. Machín as the top
person in charge. At a time when there is sufficient funding from different administrations to develop projects of all kinds, the lack of enthusiasm, ideas and management is causing Tinajo to lose valuable opportunities”, says Morales.
“Problems such as cleaning, public lighting, adapting the municipality to the Mobility Law, maintaining green areas, approving and adapting the General Plan, the problem with the supply of drinking water, among others, are not a priority for this government”. This inaction has led the municipality to a state of evident deterioration, denounces the spokesperson for the MRT
"From the Renovating Movement of Tinajo, we demand that Mr. Machín and his team publicly apologize to the residents for having lied to them with promises of investments that they never intended to execute. Likewise, we urge them to assume their responsibility, take the management of public resources seriously and govern for the benefit of all citizens. It cannot be justified that a government that costs residents more than 300,000 euros a year keeps Tinajo in this situation of abandonment", they demand.
“The future of Tinajo deserves committed, transparent and efficient management. It is time for the municipal government to take a turn and prioritize the development and well-being of our municipality”, concludes Antonio Morales.
