The first participation update in the 23J elections reflects a small increase of more than two points in Lanzarote compared to the general elections of November 10, 2019, specifically this Sunday it is 24.23% while on November 10 it was 21.62%.
The data are once again below the average for the rest of Spain and the Canary Islands. In the case of the province of Las Palmas, participation until that time has been 28.74% (also two points above the elections of November 10, 2019, and in the archipelago as a whole 28.89% (compared to 27.08% registered on November 10).
As for the national average, the first participation update leaves a figure of 40.40%, although in this case it must be taken into account that the polling stations have been open for one hour longer. In Spain, the increase in participation is 4 points above that of November 2019 when it was 37.92%%.
By municipalities, the earliest riser has been San Bartolomé, which until 1:00 p.m. had already registered a participation of 26.73%. It is followed by Haría (26.49%), Tinajo (24.90%), Teguise (24.78%), Tías (24.32%) and Arrecife (23.64%). Finally, at the bottom and with a considerable difference is Yaiza, where only 20.68% of the census had participated.
