More than 150 motorhomes from different islands of the archipelago will meet in Lanzarote. It will be on November 11, in a concentration organized by the Association of Motorhomes for Lanzarote that will take all these vehicles on a tour of the island for three days. The objective, as explained by Miguel Caraballo, president of the association, is to "raise awareness of the world of motorhomes", which, he says, is not always "understood" by citizens.

With this purpose, the association expects the arrival of motorhomes from Lanzarote, but also from Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria and Tenerife. In total, Caraballo estimates that about 250 people will gather in just under 160 vehicles. The association already organized this event last year, although it expects that in this second edition the attendance will be more than double, since in 2015, 70 motorhomes attended.

They will meet on November 11 at 6:00 p.m. at the Arrecife fairgrounds, from where they will begin their journey through different points of the island. The president of the Association of Motorhomes for Lanzarote has explained to La Voz that with this concentration they do not intend to make "any protest" or get involved with "political parties", but only to publicize what the world of motorhomes consists of. In this sense, Caraballo emphasizes that it is a form of "tourism" and emphasizes that with the tour of the island that they have organized, important sums of money will be left in the establishments they visit.

Although they do not intend to protest, the association does have a demand that it has already conveyed to the institutions. "We are in contact with the Cabildo and town councils to provide us with parking areas, not camping areas", explains its president. Caraballo points out that these would be parking areas with a maximum parking time of 72 hours. "After 72 hours, the caravan has to leave and, if not, let them fine us", he says. Caraballo, who emphasizes that this can be "very well controlled by the Local Police", has explained that the Yaiza Town Council has already prepared one of these spaces for them in Playa Blanca, at the clean point that is located at the exit of the port. This, together with the Papagayo campsite, are the only ones that exist on the island at the moment, according to Caraballo.
