The island secretary of Coalición Canaria Lanzarote, Migdalia Machín, is from this Saturday the Minister of Universities, Science, Innovation, Culture and Heritage of the Government of the Canary Islands, presided over by Fernando Clavijo.
A responsibility that she assumes "with enthusiasm and with the conviction that only by working hard can each of the islands that make up the archipelago have their demands and needs covered".
“A new stage begins throughout the Canary Islands and Lanzarote is going to play a fundamental role. We are proud that our island secretary is responsible for areas so important to maintain and value our culture, our idiosyncrasy, and our heritage and, of course, to bet on the training of those who will take the reins of the archipelago in the not too distant future”, said the organization secretary, Echedey Eugenio.
Eugenio values the figure of Migdalia Machín, emphasizing that “her career speaks for itself” and shows his conviction that she will continue working from consensus and dialogue in this new stage, “just as she has done as a councilor in the Cabildo, both in the government and in the opposition, and that she continues to do so at the head of the leadership of Coalición Canaria in Lanzarote”.
Likewise, the nationalist leader emphasizes the commitment of the new councilor, recalling that “she has always put the interests of Lanzarote and La Graciosa above her own and has always ensured stability and balance within the organization, without seeking prominence and taking a step aside when necessary. Now is her time”.
Migdalia Machín once again sets an example of that commitment and responsibility, Echedey Eugenio emphasizes, resigning from her parliamentary seat. “She has always said that she is personally not in favor of doubles and has always insisted that one must be 100% dedicated to a single institutional function”.
Thus, Machín assumes the position of councilor “willing to work for and for the Canary Islands and for Lanzarote and La Graciosa to occupy the place they deserve within the Government”, as she herself has stated today to the media.
“I am sure that, through collaboration and dialogue with all interested parties, we will be able to promote higher education, culture, science and innovation for the benefit of the entire society. My commitment will be to listen, work with transparency and make decisions based on the well-being of the citizens of the Canary Islands. I am convinced that we will build a solid and prosperous future, where knowledge, creativity and culture are the engines that contribute to promoting our development as an autonomous community”, said the new councilor.
Finally, Echedey Eugenio points out that the strength of CC Lanzarote has been reflected in the distribution of institutional responsibility for the next four years.
“In addition to the Ministry of Migdalia Machín, we have David Toledo at the head of the presidency of the Canarian Nationalist Parliamentary Group, three parliamentarians and other colleagues who will also represent CC Lanzarote and whose names will be announced later”.
All of this demonstrates that “Lanzarote has been key in the entire process that has led CC to recover the Canary Islands for its true owners: the people who live on each of the eight islands”, says the island's Secretary of Organization.
