Servando Pérez, Domingo Armas, Alejandro Betancort, Sergio Morales, Evenchar Sociedad Limitada, Edgar Ahumada and María Yisel Rodríguez are the winners of the seven traditional stalls that will be installed on the Avenida Marítima of Arrecife during the celebration of the next Fiestas de San Ginés.
They were all summoned last Saturday at La Recova Municipal to participate in the contest organized by the Department of Festivities, led by Deputy Mayor Echedey Eugenio, in order to decide which of the ten applicants would be awarded, a question that finally did not have to be decided as there were seven candidates presented.
The call for this contest "is a determined commitment to bring quality standards to our patron saint festivities in which Canarian cuisine is an indispensable distinctive as an essential part of our cultural heritage," says Echedey Eugenio.
Quality
According to the letters submitted, they will bring such quality dishes as caldo millo or coastal noodles, churros and tuna croquettes, goat meat and carajacas, pickled bigeye tuna or pork rice, ropa vieja and kid, sancocho, pata and carne fiesta, limpets and octopus, without missing papas arrugás, cheeses, mojos, gofio escaldado and sweet potato trout.
Conducted by the announcer Paco Robayna, the contest included as jury the Councilor for Economic Promotion of the Cabildo de Lanzarote, Nori Machín; the chef of the Centers of Art, Culture and Tourism of the Cabildo de Lanzarote, Gladys Isabel Janeta; the restaurateur Antonio Luna; and the worker of the Area of Economic Promotion of the Cabildo de Lanzarote, Rita Martín, who acted as spokesperson.
