The mayor of Tinajo, Jesús Machín, spoke on the microphones of Radio Lanzarote-Onda Cero this past Tuesday morning to reveal the situation of the parking in Tinajo of Las Montañas del Fuego and the possibility of installing shuttle buses. Thus, he has assured that he will go to the Courts if he fails to reach an agreement.

"Who is going to hide my insistence on these issues? I am negotiating in silence and talking about very important negotiations that I do not want to reveal right now so as not to hurt the sensitivities of the party or others," Machín began.

The mayor of Tinajo has assured that he has "two problems to solve: either we reach an agreement like an agreement with the one made with Haría or we go to court for the Montañas del Fuego," he continued. At this point, he referred to the judicial battle between the Cabildo of Lanzarote and the City Council of Haría for the parking lot of the Cueva de los Verdes, which ended up ruling in favor of the northern consistory.

"Tinajo has more inhabitants than Haría and has more territory," he reproached in the morning show Buenos días, Lanzarote.

"With all due respect to Ángel Vázquez and everyone at the Cabildo and those who have been there before, I already know that there were people who did not like the parking lot, like my party colleague, Pedro San Ginés, I know they don't like it. I'm not talking for the sake of talking, I know that there are two reports from the Joint Commission of National Parks," he wanted to emphasize during his speech.

Machín wanted to record the images that can be seen on a visit to Las Montañas del Fuego. After more than an hour of waiting, some visitors end up urinating in the National Park and, according to the mayor, "they do their physiological needs in the volcano."

"This is not my invention, so much that we talk about protecting, it is a study that is done by experts, by people who know," he explained. Machín has asked that eight, ten or twelve shuttle buses be put in place to stop the traffic that reaches this protected area.

"Any day another misfortune will happen, the other day a bus almost ran over a child again, people can't move in there. If both agreements are not reached and I have to close the entrance to the Mountains, I can do it because the law also protects me."
