The Yaiza City Council is publishing on the Public Sector Contracting Platform the tender for the award of the lifeguard service for Playa Blanca beach until 2029, with a base budget of 568,000 euros.
The Administration informs interested entities wishing to submit bids that they may do so until Wednesday, December 17, 2025.
Óscar Noda, mayor of Yaiza, declares that "we intend to guarantee the continuity of the service for four years by investing more in the town's beach". The awarded entity will be responsible for the lifeguard service in emergency interventions for possible drownings and surveillance tasks in accident prevention, environmental information and training, in addition to attending to incidents that may occur such as minor injuries, insect or jellyfish stings, and sunstroke.
Playa Blanca's small beach is one of Lanzarote's two Blue Flag awardees. The City Council has invested in accessibility, cleanliness, and the provision of complementary services for bathers.
