Lanzarote en Pie has decided to temporarily suspend the aid service for applying for the Minimum Basic Income due to the "notable" increase in positive cases of Covid-19 registered in Lanzarote in recent days.

"We believe that we must avoid exposing people who come to the service and the volunteers themselves to a possible risk situation," the group points out.

According to reports, the suspension will be maintained "for prevention" for the next two weeks, with the resumption of the service "conditional on the evolution of the situation and what the health authorities determine."
