The vice president of the Lanzarote Water Consortium, Domingo Cejas (Coalición Canaria), has extended for the third consecutive time the declaration of a state of emergency in Lanzarote.
The Official Gazette of the Canary Islands (BOC) published this Monday the extension for another six months of the declaration of the water emergency situation in Lanzarote and La Graciosa.
This declaration began on January 14, 2025, was extended for the first time for another six months in August 2025, and again in February of this year.
The extension allows the declaration of public utility or social interest to remain in force, as well as the procedure for the necessity of occupation for the adoption of expropriation measures of goods or rights.
