The Plenary Hall of the Cabildo of Lanzarote hosted this Wednesday the presentation of the Arrecife City Beach Handball Tournament, a sporting event that will turn the capital into a great stage for this spectacular modality this weekend.

The event was attended by the president of the Canary Islands Handball Federation, Blas Parrilla; the director of CB San José Obrero, David Robayna; and the Minister of Physical Activity and Sports of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Juan Monzón.

The Minister highlighted that "beach handball will once again fill the capital with sport and spectacle this weekend." "This is a tournament that combines fun, competition and a unique environment such as the Arrecife coastline," he added.

Monzón pointed out that "from the Cabildo we continue to support this sport in all its modalities, supporting initiatives that promote sports practice, coexistence and the economic and social impulse of our municipalities."

Both Blas Parrilla and David Robayna thanked the institutional support and invited the fans to come and enjoy an event that promises emotion and a good atmosphere on the beach.

Parrilla also announced that this tournament "could take a step further and become a national event." "Beach handball in Lanzarote has a great weight and importance, so I am convinced that it could host an event of the national circuit," he added.
