Lanzarote presents the conference 'Inclusively Capable'

This initiative seeks to promote the rights and well-being of people with disabilities and raise awareness about their situation in all aspects

The president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Oswaldo Betancort, accompanied by the Minister of Social Welfare and Inclusion of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Marci Acuña, presented this Friday in Lanzarote the commemorative conference of the International Day of Disability, December 3 Inclusively Capable.

With these conferences, the Ministry of Social Welfare and Inclusion aims to promote the rights and well-being of people with disabilities in all areas of society, as well as raise awareness about their situation in all aspects of life.

Oswaldo Betancort has explained that his main objective is to "act from the public administration, with one hundred percent of its potential and desire, to influence the real consolidation of the rights and well-being of people with disabilities and raise awareness about their situation in any area of life. Transversally, from all areas of the Cabildo, and with general impact on the entire affected population."

For his part, the Minister of Social Welfare and Inclusion of the Cabildo, Marci Acuña, stressed that these conferences "are one more step in their commitment to give visibility to disability and that the union of the third sector will be key to achieving the desired social welfare that improves the quality of life of the most vulnerable." 

Regarding the Commemorative Conference of the International Day of Disability, Minister Marci Acuña presented the entire program, which highlighted different talks, meetings, debates and round tables, which will begin on Monday, November 27 and will run until Friday, December 1.

Both the president of the Cabildo and the Minister of the Area invite everyone who wishes to participate in these conferences, where they can talk and, above all, discuss the current state of disability in the world and on our beloved island. A date that they intend to be marked and commemorative with the aim of tracing a common path, which promotes and supports people with disabilities and provides the fair and necessary support to families and entities.
