Jonatan Lemes will compete for the mayoralty of Yaiza with a new political party

JONATAN LEMES (YAIZA FOREVER)

Jonatan Lemes will compete in the elections on May 28 with the Yaiza Siempre (YAS) party. The former councilor of Roads, Works and Urbanism of the City Council, formerly in Unidos Por Yaiza (UPY), changes political group and accuses the current mayor, Óscar Noda, of being "absolutist."

Lemes announced his departure from Unidos por Yaiza (UPY) on March 15. That same day, the party announced its agreement with Nueva Canarias to go to the elections in coalition.

Óscar Noda announced that same day that he would run as a candidate for the Presidency of the Cabildo of Lanzarote. "Noda's deification not only leads him to abandon more than 300 members but also to concentrate all the positions of the organization in his person, considering himself the son, the father and the holy spirit of the same," he highlighted in a statement issued by YAS.

In this line, the new political group assures that "many" of the members of Unidos Por Yaiza have registered in Yaiza Siempre.

The new candidate for mayor, who left his seat and resigned from his positions in the City Council on March 3, has stated that the decision was not made then. "I gave priority to staying at home, with my family," the note points out.

However, "seeing that the majority" of his UPY colleagues entered this new group, he did not hesitate to join this project "that keeps the essence" of why he entered politics.

“And the municipal formation YAS was created by those who did not understand or understand the absolutist drift of Óscar Noda,” Lemes insisted.

He also insists that “the future of Yaiza cannot be in the hands of people with behaviors more typical of a gang than of a serious party.”

“They don't want gods, or little figures from Bethlehem, but rather colleagues with whom to work side by side to contribute to the happiness of all,” said the candidate for mayor of Yaiza.

“When I thought that politics had no solution, I find in YAS normal neighbors who want to build a municipality where we all fit. It is exciting to see them working on the program, on proposals and on ideas for Yaiza after having lived four years where the only thing that was talked about was positions, salaries, transferees and bad vibes,” said the YAS candidate for Mayor of Yaiza.
