Councilor Jacobo Medina has responded to the decision of the Popular Party of Lanzarote, headed by Ástrid Pérez, to remove him from the Vice Presidency of the Cabildo and to withdraw the areas of Planning and Project Coordination. The former candidate for the PP's electoral list to the first island institution will be replaced by María Jesús Tovar, who occupied the fourth position.
Tovar will assume the Vice Presidency of the Cabildo, as well as the areas of Planning and Project Coordination, while maintaining Economy and Finance.
The general secretary of the PP of Lanzarote has avoided commenting on his party's decision to remove him from a large part of his positions. In addition, he has not spoken about the conflicts that are being experienced within the political formation, where for months the poor relationship of the now former vice president with some party colleagues and with Ástrid Pérez herself, president of the PP of Lanzarote, has been known.
Medina has thanked all the messages and calls "where they encourage him to move forward". At the same time, he has hinted that he will remain as Councilor for Public Works, where he will continue to offer his "dedication and commitment".
"In Lanzarote and La Graciosa we have a lot of work ahead of us. There are many projects and investments that we must undertake in this mandate," he concluded.
