Hazte Oír confuses Lanzaroteans with Majorcans in its campaign against Sánchez

The far-right organization Hazte Oír has confused the people of Lanzarote with those of Fuerteventura in its campaign in Lanzarote against the President of the Government of Spain, Pedro Sánchez.

On its account on the social network X, the organization published a tweet announcing this campaign, but they got the demonym for Lanzarote wrong. "The people of Fuerteventura, who are clear that the tricksters from Moncloa are not welcome in Lanzarote, are having a blast with Sánchez and the cardboard Bego," they published.

However, various people quickly commented on this publication that the demonym for Lanzarote was "lanzaroteño" or "conejero," not "majorero."

In addition to the cardboard figures of Pedro Sánchez and Begoña Gómez where the phrase "criminals" and the text "Spain's borders, insecure. Their vacations protected" can be read, Hazte Oír has also put up posters with the same phrases at one of the PSOE headquarters in Lanzarote.

Thus, a similar propaganda campaign took place last summer, when the ultra-Catholic group Hazte Oír filled a beach in Costa Teguise and the Papagayo beach (Yaiza), a protected natural area, with umbrellas where they called the Spanish president "corrupt." That initiative earned criticism from some citizens because several beach umbrellas ended up in the sea. It also received a sanctioning file from the Ministry of Environment for sticking stickers on the signage of a protected natural space.
