The Haría City Council has unanimously approved, during the plenary session held this Wednesday morning, the request for inter-administrative cooperation to the Cabildo de Lanzarote for the completion of the technical reports and the drafting of the new execution project for the Arrieta walkway, located next to La Garita beach.
The mayor of Haría, Alfredo Villalba, highlights the consensus reached around this initiative and thanks the support of all political groups. "I want to emphasize the unanimous agreement reached by all political parties represented in the plenary and the commitment shown by the entire corporation to advance in an action that we consider a priority for Arrieta and for the municipality," he points out.
The approved proposal contemplates requesting technical assistance from the Cabildo de Lanzarote to complete the definitive evaluation of the state of the structure, the foundation, and the support piles of the walkway, as well as the drafting of a new project that comprehensively defines the necessary actions for its recovery.
The initiative responds to the structural deterioration detected in the infrastructure, which currently does not meet the necessary conditions for public use due to corrosion problems, damage to the pavement, deterioration of the railings, and other deficiencies derived from its permanent exposure to the marine environment.
With this agreement, the Haría City Council takes a new step to promote the recovery of the Arrieta walkway, an infrastructure historically linked to the enjoyment of the coast and access to the sea by residents and visitors, also reinforcing collaboration between administrations to make its future rehabilitation possible.
