The Haría Town Council has requested assistance from the Lanzarote Cabildo to repair a sinkhole in Punta Mujeres. The Town Council has requested assistance from the Water Consortium due to "the seriousness" of the situation and "the urgency" of the work.
This request arises after the opposition voted against a budget modification of 600,000 euros to launch a dozen projects in the municipality. Among them was repairing the aforementioned sinkhole.
In this regard, the Town Council requests assistance from the Water Consortium "to resolve a breakdown caused by the filtration of sewage and the irruption of seawater into the road". At the same time, it points to "the irresponsibility" of the PSOE, led by Alfredo Villalba, and the turncoat councilors of Coalición Canaria Chaxiraxi Niz, Armando Bonilla and Alejandro Hernández, who voted against the action plan proposed by the government group in the last plenary session.
"We request the assistance of the Island Institution to declare the work urgent, given that it is impossible for the municipality to face it due to the blockade suffered", the Town Council resolved in a statement. "This paralysis seriously harms the well-being of the citizens and forces the delay of works of this type and another ten actions that, for the benefit of the northern population, were vital", it continues.
In this line, the Government group regrets the situation experienced as a result of this decision and the mayoress of Haría, Evelia García, hopes to be able to remedy the situation as quickly as possible "and not in the way we understood it corresponded".
