The City Council of Haría, in collaboration with the councils of San Bartolomé and Tías, joins the intermunicipal project Getting to know my neighbors that will start on July 25 with an event
in commemoration of International Grandparents Day, with the aim of promoting social and cultural exchange between seniors from the three municipalities.
This first day will take place at the Municipal Theater of San Bartolomé at 5:00 p.m., where attendees can enjoy the emotional theatrical comedy La Lechuga performed by the SomoS company.
The mayor of Haría, Alfredo Villalba, stressed that "it is necessary to continue strengthening community ties, especially among the elderly population." "This event is an opportunity to pay tribute to them, share experiences and build bridges between generations," he said.
For her part, the Councilor for the Elderly, Evelia García, stressed the social and emotional value of this meeting. "We want the grandparents of the municipality to feel accompanied, valued and connected with their environment. It is a way of creating community and giving back what they have given us," she stressed.
In addition, after the play, the festivities will continue with a popular dance enlivened by the El Golpito band in the San Bartolomé Senior Center. The activities are aimed at seniors registered in the organizing municipalities.
Those interested in attending from Haría can contact the City Council through the telephone number 928 83 56 33 to receive information and manage their reservation.
