“I assume the political cost that has materialized in a motion of censure against me by those who care little about the interests of the people of Haría,” says Villalba.

The mayor of Haría, Alfredo Villalba, celebrates that the plenary session of the Island Council of Lanzarote approved this Saturday, November 14, the addendum to the agreement between the first Institution and the City Council to execute the sentence of the Cueva de Los Verdes, after the northern Council did the same on October 24.

"With the support of the Island Corporation to the modification of the initial agreement, the harmfulness of the agreement signed in its day by both administrations is evidenced, as reflected in the legal report commissioned by this City Council," says the northern mayor.

Villalba is pleased that the municipality of Haría will finally benefit from almost 13 million euros, recalling that the Municipal Corporation has not received any amount in respect of the extrajudicial agreement
of 2016, which also did not define a payment plan or have the relevant judicial approvals.

"I assume the political cost that this decision has entailed, which has materialized in a motion of censure against me by those who care little about the interests of the people of Haría," says the municipal mayor.

"As I said at the time, I am not motivated by political motivations, but by the search for the best for the residents of the north of the Island, as I have done from the first day I proudly acceded to the Mayor's Office; perhaps others are not legitimized to say the same," concludes Alfredo Villalba.
