The Department of Culture of the Arrecife City Council, headed by Abigail González, announces the opening of the call for subsidies aimed at promoting cultural activities and projects to be carried out in the municipality during the year 2026.

The Official Bulletin of the Province of Las Palmas (BOP nº 123, of October 13, 2025) has published the extract of the call for proposals, which includes a total allocation of 15,000 euros per project, within a global line of support for the cultural revitalization of the city.

The deadline for submitting applications will be 15 business days from the day following its publication, ending on November 3, 2025, inclusive.

The call for subsidies has two lines

These subsidies, under a competitive tendering system, are aimed at non-profit organizations and cultural groups based or operating in Arrecife, which promote initiatives linked to the promotion of traditional Canarian culture or to contemporary artistic creation and expression. The call includes two main axes: one focused on the promotion of folklore, crafts, and local traditions, and another on the organization of cultural activities, workshops, or events of a general and participatory nature.

Councilwoman Abigail González emphasized that this call "reinforces the Area's commitment to those who make it possible for Arrecife to continue being a living and diverse space in the cultural sphere."

In the words of the councilor, "these grants allow local associations, groups, and creators to have support to develop projects that reach all neighborhoods and promote citizen participation."

González emphasizes that "culture is an essential tool for social cohesion and community development," and encourages all cultural entities in the municipality to submit their proposals. "We want Arrecife to continue growing as a cultural reference point, with projects that identify us, move us, and unite us," he adds.

Applications may be submitted through the General Registry of the Arrecife City Council (Avenida Vargas, 1) or through the municipal electronic headquarters, depending on the form of relationship of each applicant. All the necessary information and documentation is available at the electronic headquarters of the Arrecife City Council and in the full text of the call for applications published in the BOP.
