Fernando Clavijo, held a meeting this Tuesday with the Lanzarote Business Confederation with the aim of "taking note of the concerns of a sector that demands urgent actions by the institutions to recover lost competitiveness", the party advances.

Oswaldo Betancort, Migdalia Machín, Olivia Duque, and Pedro San Ginés also attended the meeting, they say.

Among the problems that the business sector has raised is the Regional Aquaculture Plan in the Canary Islands and within it, the installation of marine cages on the coast of Lanzarote and its consequences, occupies a priority place, as does the debate on the burial of the LZ-2 as it passes through Playa Honda, they confirm.

The Special Plan for the Protected Landscape of La Geria, the Plan for Use and Management of the Chinijo Archipelago, the development of public housing plans, investments in the Road Network, the need for an auditorium or Congress Palace in Lanzarote, in addition to the need to promote Vocational Training and, within it, Dual Training, have also occupied an important part of the meeting, they collect.

The business community also demands, in addition to the implementation of a plan against the underground economy and improvement of inspection services; a proposal valued very positively by the candidates of the Canarian Coalition, they make clear.

As Clavijo stated, "all the macro and micro economic data show that there has been a slowdown and loss of strength of the island in the last 4 years."

The candidate has specified that "it has gone from leading the main rankings of per capita income, business generation, job creation and implementation of renewable energy in the past legislature, to being in the back of the line", he comments.

Likewise, he assured that "we want to reverse this situation." "We have to generate wealth and employment, and Lanzarote has the potential to do so," they argue.

In the same line, Migdalia Machín emphasized that "we are clear about the short and long-term measures that have to be implemented to improve the quality of life of all citizens of Lanzarote and La Graciosa."

For his part, Oswaldo Betancort recalled the "importance of a sector that did not stop during the pandemic", but that has barely "received help from the Government of the Canary Islands", they collect.

"Lanzarote was an example of the spearhead of many market niches, of much employability, of many models that generate wealth and revert to society." "What we intend is to recover that model, promote it and turn Lanzarote into a competitive and comfortable island", they make clear.

"Recover that model, promote it and turn Lanzarote into a competitive and comfortable island"

For this, CC is aware that "there is much work to be done and many issues forgotten during these four years that must be answered", they confirm. Vital issues for the island such as "the island Plan, the production and distribution of water, an efficient mobility and public transport plan, the reactivation of island commerce or a support plan for small businesses", they conclude.
