The spokesperson for the Socialist Parliamentary Group, Manuel Fajardo Palarea, stated this Tuesday that the PP "does not have the announced amendments" to the General Budget project of the Autonomous Community for 2015 with regards to Lanzarote. The deputy "regrets having to denounce the lies of the PP again about the amendments that, in a press release sent to the island's media on December 4, they said they had presented." "He insists on lying about these," the deputy maintains.
Fajardo Palarea expresses the "surprise" that this press release caused him, since within the deadline, the PP "had only presented four amendments for Lanzarote referring to the modernization plan of Puerto del Carmen for 1,002,715 euros; an amendment for the CEIP Montaña Blanca of 165,000 euros; one of 200,000 euros for improvement works of infrastructures of the IES of Haría and, finally, one for an amount of 1,234,755 euros for the extension of the allocation for replacement and rehabilitation of the houses of Valterra and Titerroy".
"The truth is that it is completely false, therefore, that the PP has presented 10 amendments to the regional budgets of 2015 and equally false that it asks to increase investments for Lanzarote by 10,080,000 euros," he explains. He assures that "as of today, it can be affirmed that the amendment to which the press release refers, which has to do with the 600,000 euros to undertake the retaining walls of the Arrecife ring road as it passes through the Maneje neighborhood, has not been presented either in the registry of the Chamber or requested in voce in the Budget Committee".
No amendments for the Ring Road, the health centers or the rainwater network
Fajardo adds that "the same situation applies to the amount of 1,600,000 euros for the rest of the complementary works of the Arrecife ring road". And the same happens with those destined, according to the "press release that is not true", to the health centers of Costa Teguise and Argana, as well as the local clinic of Tinajo, for an amount, respectively, of 200,000, 300,000 and 200,000 euros each, "as well as the one referring to the channeling of rainwater for Arrecife, which the press release described as millionaire".
The PSOE parliamentarian criticizes that, "to make matters worse", the PP's press release "talks about 1.6 million to expand the number of homes that the Executive plans to rehabilitate in Valterra and Titerroy, when the amount is the one indicated previously, that is, 1,234,755 euros". Finally, the one that, according to its press release, "the PP considered of utmost importance, that is, the one that had to do with La Graciosa having a correct sanitation network, instead of 980,000 euros, as the PP says, was presented out of time on December 2, 2014, as demonstrated by the document attached to this note, but for an amount of 100,000 euros, that is, with 880,000 euros less than what is said in the information of the Populars".
Manuel Fajardo Palarea emphasizes that everything stated is "perfectly verifiable by reading the Official Gazette of the Parliament of the Canary Islands dated December 2, 2014", as well as the letter he has sent to the media, "thus demonstrating, again, that the PP and its president in Lanzarote, either do not understand the amendments they have presented to the General Budgets of the Autonomous Community or, which would be equally serious, they are trying to deceive public opinion again". Finally, the socialist spokesperson "challenges the PP to demonstrate that on the date on which it issued its statement, the amendments to which it refers in its note had been presented".
