The Ministry of Education of the Government of the Canary Islands has rectified the planned plans at the Doctor Alfonso Spínola school in Teguise, after parents complained about the formation of mixed groups of fifth and sixth grade students. This was announced by the mayor of Teguise, Oswaldo Betancort, who wanted to thank the Ministry for the "positive resolution" "in the face of the reasonable demands of the parents."
In a statement, the City Council points out that "from the beginning" it has collaborated and "mediated" to respond to these complaints, since both the educational center and the parents considered that "with students from different courses in the same class, the dynamics of the students who had remained in a group for the last three years was broken." In addition, according to the Consistory, they demanded that they continue "with the tutors who implemented a project methodology three courses ago, which, they say, has been very enriching for the students."
Faced with this complaint, the City Council points out that the Ministry of Education "has favorably resolved the situation, with the segregation of fifth and sixth grade students and the appointment of a teacher." In addition, the mayor has "praised" this decision, since "the particularity of the case has been taken into account, positively addressing and repairing the demands of said educational community."
