The Councilor for Festivities of the Yaiza City Council, Daniel Medina, has denied the Popular Party and stated that "the Los Remedios festival fair will open its doors this Friday." This was confirmed this Wednesday by the Councilor for Festivities Daniel Medina to La Voz, following accusations from the PP in Yaiza about the possibility of not having the attractions during the festivities.
"The opening of the fair will be established this Friday with the reading of the proclamation and the beginning of the festive events," the councilor highlighted. The city council has announced that this 2024 will feature new attractions, reinforcing children's activities. "This year we have shooting attractions, several inflatables, bulls, etc.," Medina highlighted.
As La Voz already published, the Popular Party of Yaiza accused the southern City Council, led by Óscar Noda, of "refusing to maintain" a meeting with the association of fairground operators after the problems with the group in the past El Carmen festivities in Playa Blanca.
The Popular Party stated that "given the mayor's refusal to hold a meeting and delegate to the councilor," the association has decided "not to set up the traditional bumper cars or the rest of the attractions." The opposition party accuses the mayor of Yaiza, Óscar Noda, of "not caring" and refusing to "listen to the concerns and proposals" of the fairground operators.
Regarding the statements made by the party, the councilor has assured that "we have not had any problems with the fairground operators." Furthermore, regarding the fairground operators' consideration of excessive taxes, which the PP has emphasized, Medina has advised the party members that "they should inform themselves a little better and read the ordinance, the taxes are not at all abusive," he concluded.
