Ciudadanos (Cs) announced this Monday that it will present a motion in the next plenary session of the Yaiza City Council to "demand a solution to the continuous illegal dumping of debris and the large accumulation of it in the rear area of the Costa Papagayo urbanization."

This was announced by the municipal spokesperson for Cs in the local corporation, Bruno Medina, who stated that "there is an increasing transit of companies and individuals who throw garbage and debris in this area, a situation that already poses a serious health problem, in addition to threatening the environment by destroying the flora and fauna."

For this reason, Medina has requested that "in addition to controlling and sanctioning offenders, all the debris that has been accumulating uncontrollably in recent years should be cleaned and removed", in order to recover the area and return it to a natural environment that respects the environment."

In this line, he assured that "behind these discharges is the picaresque of those who want to save the transport and payment of the fees corresponding to the treatment of these wastes, in addition to phantom companies that act without licenses." For this reason, the Cs councilor has requested that "access to vehicles be restricted, except those destined for services", and has made a "call to civic-mindedness, since the recycling center is less than a kilometer from this area."

For all these reasons, and "in order to keep the municipality clean and contribute to the protection of the environment", Ciudadanos has demanded that the Yaiza City Council "put an end to the incessant illegal dumping of debris in the rear area of the Costa Papagayo Partial Plan."
