This Monday, the course First Responder in Accident Situations with Multiple Victims has begun at the Consortium's facilities. This initiative, which is being developed in collaboration with the Canary Islands School of Health and Social Services (ESSSCAN), aims to strengthen the skills of emergency personnel on the islands to improve care and response in highly complex scenarios.
During the opening day, Francisco Aparicio, president of the Security and Emergency Consortium, highlighted the relevance of this training: “Today we are taking another step in our commitment to strengthen the response capacity of our emergency teams. This course is the result of a joint effort that reflects our priority: to guarantee the safety and protection of citizens. We will continue working on training projects like this, which are essential to face the challenges that may arise.”
For his part, José Montelongo, director of ESSSCAN, stressed the importance of offering practical and updated tools to emergency professionals: “Training is key to ensuring effective action in critical situations. This course not only reinforces technical knowledge, but also coordination between different entities, which is essential in emergencies with multiple victims.”
The course, designed by José María García Domínguez, head of Health of the Military Emergency Unit (UME) in the Canary Islands, is adapted to the characteristics and needs of Lanzarote and La Graciosa. Throughout several days, participants will work on the management of specific protocols and procedures to ensure a rapid, efficient and coordinated intervention in highly demanding situations.
The training takes place in a practical and dynamic environment, offering attendees the opportunity to simulate real scenarios and apply the knowledge acquired in a controlled context.
