"The workers of the Insular Hospital have their rights, but those of the Molina Orosa Hospital also have theirs." This is how the representative of the medical union CEMSATSE, Antonio Becerra, has stated, who has criticized that "the unions" of the Molina Orosa are not being taken into account at all in the process of integrating the Insular Hospital into the Canary Health Service, despite the fact that he assures that the workers of this center could be "harmed" as a result. "I think someone wants to put on the medals very soon," he said on Radio Lanzarote-Onda Cero, where he asked that "voice" be given to the staff of the General Hospital.

According to Becerra, the integration of the Insular Hospital into the Canary Health Service has generated a "great concern and worry" among the workers of the General Hospital. "Because it turns out that if you are going to integrate the staff from one place, there will be movements in the employment lists, in the positions, and where those movements are going to occur are in the lists of this hospital," explained the representative of the CEMSATE union at the Molina Orosa Hospital, who criticizes that despite this, the unions of this center have not been given participation in the negotiating committee for the integration of the Insular Hospital.

In this regard, Becerra explained that CCOO, Intersindical Canaria, and SAE are present in the negotiating committee for the integration of the Insular Hospital, unions that also have representation in the Molina Orosa, but that in this working group they are "in the capacity that they have representatives in the Insular Hospital." In addition, in the case of Intersindical Canaria, he points out that he has learned that "two people from Tenerife come to the meetings," a fact that he considers "absurd." "That is, are you going to integrate an Insular Hospital in Lanzarote within the SCS and it turns out that two 'chicharreros' come to assess that integration?" questioned the representative of the CEMSATSE union at the Molina Orosa Hospital.

"The unions of the Molina Orosa are quite revolutionized"

"We don't know how the integration is being done and that is the problem, because in some or many cases the group of workers of the Molina Orosa can be harmed. To give an example, here there are hiring lists and temporary positions that have a very regulated order. They are public lists with a hiring table that is followed to the millimeter. So, when integrating, we don't know if the people who come from below are going to go ahead of the staff that is here and is working, if they are going to displace this staff and occupy their positions or if the hiring lists are going to follow some type of parameter by seniority or whatever," explained Antonio Becerra, who believes that "someone wants to put on the medals very soon without taking into account that the staff of the Molina Orosa can be harmed and without taking them into account."

"Maybe the medal will sting a little, because it is impossible not to count on the staff from above," added the representative of the CEMSATSE union at the Molina Orosa Hospital, who has assured that the unions of this center "are quite revolutionized" by this fact and that several of them have already asked to be involved in the working group for the integration of the Insular Hospital. "Because here people feel helpless," he said.

In his case, he claims to have addressed the Minister of Health of the Cabildo, Juan Manuel Sosa, and the medical director. "And I still haven't had a response," Antonio Becerra assured, acknowledging, however, that he did so verbally. "The truth is that I have done it verbally," pointed out the representative of the CEMSATSE union, who nevertheless pointed out that "other unions have requested it in writing and have not been answered either." Even so, he has stated that he will also register his request in writing. "Because the logical thing is, what I told Dr. Sosa, because this can backfire. You cannot do an integration without the staff where it is going to be integrated knowing under what conditions, because what you are doing is an imposition, not an integration," he concluded.
