The facilities of the Islote de Fermina hosted this Tuesday, February 28, the closing ceremony of the Training Program in Alternation with Employment "Administrative and General Services for Lanzarote", promoted by the Employment area of the Island Council.

There have been 15 students and workers who have participated in this PFAE, through which a management and teaching team made up of five professionals was also hired, bringing the number of people hired to 20, all of them women.

"It has been an eminently feminine project, which has demonstrated that when the means are made available to women, empowerment occurs and the desire to fulfill themselves, to be useful to society and to develop personally and professionally comes to light," said the Employment Councilor of the Cabildo, Jorge Peñas.

For Peñas, this Tuesday has been "a day of mixed feelings, of sadness for saying goodbye to colleagues who have contributed so much, but also of pride for the good work done and confidence that, from now on, their future will undoubtedly be better."

In addition to the Employment Councilor of the Cabildo, the closing ceremony was attended by the representative of the Canarian Employment Service (SCE), Jorge Guevara, who also highlighted the "success" of the PFAE and conveyed his best wishes for the future to the participants.

For her part, the program coordinator, Paloma Quesada, congratulated the students and workers "for having achieved the planned objective" and expressed her gratitude to the Employment Area of the Cabildo de Lanzarote, the SCE and the collaborating entities.
