The President of the Canary Islands, Fernando Clavijo, stated this Sunday, the National Holiday, that this celebration is an opportunity "to reflect on what unites us and the richness that comes from our diversity."
The head of the Canarian Executive reflected this Sunday on his social networks about the commemoration of October 12, a day that, in addition to celebrating, should be an opportunity to think "about what unites us" as a country.
And from the Canary Islands "we contribute identity, culture and commitment," continued Fernando Clavijo, who said he was "proud of our islands and the role we have always played in achieving a fairer, more plural and supportive future."
The Canarian president did not attend the institutional event celebrating the National Holiday in Madrid this Sunday, presided over by the King and Queen of Spain, because on Saturday he participated in the pilgrimage of the image of the Virgin of Candelaria from her sanctuary to Santa Cruz de Tenerife, which takes place every seven years.
