Coalición Canaria (CC) Yaiza denounces the "total neglect" of the mayor of UPY, Óscar Noda, and his government group in the maintenance of the facilities of the Atlantic Park of Playa Blanca, inaugurated in 2021 and which presents a notable state of deterioration "without the City Council having taken any measures in this regard".
The nationalist municipal spokesperson, Emilio Machín, criticizes “the painful deterioration of this sports and leisure space just three years after its inauguration and in which more than two million euros of public money from the taxes paid to the City Council by the residents of Yaiza were invested”.
As an example of "the negligent conservation of these facilities”, Machín points out that “the paddle tennis court has been out of use for five months as the members of the government group are limited to ordering the cleaning of the glass that still remains without them having been able to order the replacement of the broken glass”.
CC Yaiza warns that “this abandonment not only affects the residents, who see how a facility that should serve for their enjoyment remains unusable, but also the image of the municipality, which depends on tourism for its economic development”.
In this sense, the nationalist municipal spokesperson considers “regrettable that, while residents and tourists need adequate infrastructures, the government team is looking the other way, allowing the lack of maintenance and the deterioration of sports and leisure facilities to continue advancing”.
From the nationalist formation, the mayor is demanded "to act immediately to guarantee that these facilities receive adequate maintenance". “We are not asking for miracles, we are asking him to do his job. The citizens of Yaiza deserve a mayor who responds to their needs, and not one who is more concerned about his seat in the Cabildo”, concludes Machín.
