The municipal group of Coalición Canaria in Haría urges the Municipal Platform of Haría (PMH) to explain to the different sports clubs, individual athletes and groups, "why they are going to be left without subsidies this year".
The nationalists denounce that a "very complicated situation is looming for the clubs, because the Municipal Platform of Haría has not wanted to definitively approve the Budgets", which they say were already initially approved three months ago, "with CC in the government".
"In the plenary session held on September 3, 2022, the mayoress stated that within a week a new plenary session would be convened to disassociate the Strategic Subsidy Plan from the municipal budget. This means that the highest budget in the history of the municipality, the one that CC brought forward during our time in the Mayor's Office, would remain in a drawer”, explains the president of the Local Committee, Víctor Robayna.
However, CC denounces that as of today "not only has the plenary session not been convened for the final approval of the Subsidy Plan, but the groups have not been informed of the current situation".
“Sports schools have time to justify until December 31, 2022, but the other groups and individual athletes have only a few days, until September 30, 2022, to submit, execute and justify. In other words, it is impossible to meet these deadlines”, Robayna laments.
The nationalists assure that the clubs have already conveyed their concern to CC. “They are in a very complicated situation and there are groups that need the subsidy to continue with the activity they currently carry out”, adds the former mayoress, Chaxiraxi Niz.
For this reason, the nationalists demand that the government group modify the dates of the Strategic Subsidy Plan "so that the beneficiaries can apply for them and include in said modification those sporting events that may be held until the end of the year".
