Coalición Canaria (CC) San Bartolomé deeply regrets "the lack of will on the part of the socialist municipal government group, led by Isidro Pérez, to debate and approve the proposals presented by the nationalist formation for the benefit of the residents of the municipality."
“In the current term, we have seen the ten motions that we have presented to the plenary be rejected, most of the time receiving as a response a brief we are working on it, reflecting the arrogant attitude of the mayor”, says the municipal spokesman for the nationalists, Eduardo Díaz.
Some motions based “on requests and concerns that the residents have sent us and focused on key issues for the municipality such as the improvement of public services, local economic development, support for families and the integration of immigrants”, he adds.
In this section, the nationalist spokesman highlights the PSOE's rejection of the motions presented by CC for the improvement of the garbage collection service on weekends and holidays, the transfer of municipal land to the Government of the Canary Islands for the construction of official protection housing or the implementation of a transport service for the family respite center.
Appearances and extraordinary plenaries
Likewise, “the socialist government group has rejected the two requests for appearance addressed to the mayor to explain issues of utmost importance for the municipality such as the serious confrontation he maintains with the Local Police, which denotes his lack of political transparency”, adds Eduardo Díaz.
In addition, the nationalist municipal spokesman criticizes the rejection by the municipal government group of the request for two extraordinary plenary sessions to address urgent issues such as the clear rejection by citizens of the construction of a macro-reception center in the El Polvorín de Güime area.
Despite the fact that “the PSOE has chosen to ignore all these initiatives, thus demonstrating its lack of commitment to the real problems of the municipality, closing the doors to dialogue and collaboration that we have offered, from CC we reaffirm our commitment to the residents of San Bartolomé, guaranteeing them that we will continue working tirelessly to defend their interests”, adds Díaz.
