Coalición Canaria (CC) Yaiza has requested the appearance of the mayor, Óscar Noda, in the next municipal plenary session so that he pronounces himself on the recently published news in which the auction of the Playa Quemada Partial Plan is announced, which will make possible the creation of 300 tourist beds in this townCC Yaiza denounces in this regard the "grave situation of legal and urbanistic insecurity that the municipality is going through as a direct consequence of the political neglect of the mayor, Óscar Noda, incapable of moving forward a General Planning Plan (PGO) adapted to the reality of Yaiza after the annulment by the Supreme Court of the Supplementary Plan".The local secretary and nationalistic municipal spokesperson, Emilio Machín, underlines that the mayor "did not react even when the partial nullity of the Supplementary Plan was declared in 2014 nor when the Supreme Court definitively struck it down in 2020, which has caused an urbanistic limbo that has generated a lot of insecurity among the residents of Yaiza".
Technical Office
Machín also denounces "the collapse that the municipal Technical Office is suffering, absolutely overwhelmed by Óscar Noda's refusal to provide it with the necessary human and material resources, which is paralyzing any type of project".
“Today no neighbor has guarantees, no investor has certainties and no strategic project can advance normally. This is a direct consequence of a local government like UPY’s, without direction and without management capacity,” underlines Machín, who demands that Óscar Noda “stop worrying so much about his future in the Cabildo and assume his responsibility for the future of the municipality”.
“Yaiza needs planning, legal certainty and a clear territorial model, no more patches, no more excuses and no more neglect. The municipality cannot continue paying for the incompetence of a mayor who has been incapable of guaranteeing something as basic as a modern and legal General Plan,” concludes the local secretary and municipal spokesperson for CC.
