The Nationalist Group (CC- PNC-SB) in the Arrecife City Council has urged the capital's Consistory "to carry out the necessary procedures so that the 70 homes of the Social Marine Institute in the Valterra neighborhood can pass once and for all into the hands of their legitimate owners."
This is what the nationalists demand, through a motion that will be debated this Friday, November 29, in the plenary session of the Corporation. "These residents live in a home that is still owned by the ISM, which depends on the government of Spain, which makes no sense. Despite having complied with the agreement and having completed the agreed payment, years have passed and the procedures for the final transfer have not been formalized," stressed the spokesperson for CC-PNC-SB, Echedey Eugenio.
"A charade with a pre-election photo"
In this regard, the nationalists state that they "are clear" about "who is to blame." And, they recall that "in the heat of the election campaign for the past local and general elections, the PSOE announced an agreement with the Social Marine Institute for the 70 homes to be transferred to the City Council free of charge." "Through this agreement, the Consistory was to be responsible for awarding the homes to the corresponding owners,"
However, Echedey Eugeio states that "the reality is that said transfer was not formalized beyond a charade with a pre-election photo of a document of no legal validity and that it was nothing more than a mere declaration of future intentions."
In addition, the nationalists denounce that "the situation is aggravated when now, the Popular Party, which while in the opposition demanded solutions, distances itself from the residents, stating that neither does such a transfer exist nor is it willing to carry out the procedures so that the City Council can receive the homes." "The affected families are thus left without any type of alternative or collaboration from those who run the Municipal Corporation, they conclude.
