The candidates for the Senate and the Congress for Lanzarote, Emilio Machín and Cristina Calero, held a meeting last Monday with the board of directors of the Chamber of Commerce of Lanzarote and La Graciosa, a meeting with the aim of "collecting and taking to the General Courts the demands" that the business institution considers a priority so that both islands can continue to move forward.
"Collect and take to the General Courts the priority demands so that the island can continue to move forward"
During the meeting, which was attended by the president of the Chamber, José Valle, and the vice president, Carmen Martinón, a radiograph of the economic and productive fabric of both islands was put on the table, and there was talk of the current needs and future possibilities, with special emphasis on the priority of distinguishing these islands as a differentiated and sustainable destination.
In this way, issues that the chamber entity has included in its roadmap were addressed, such as border inspection posts, the importance of Dual Vocational Training and possible job niches for this profile of graduates, the urgency of eliminating bureaucratic obstacles to opening and SME aid, or the possibilities of facilitating access to POSEI funds for sustainable companies.
Likewise, the board of directors of the Chamber conveyed to the nationalist candidates their concern about "the need for updating and adaptation" to the new times of airport infrastructures to respond to current traffic, and urged them to promote the arrival of "hydraulic investments" to Lanzarote.
