Coalición Canaria (CC) Yaiza denounces the "worrying" state of deterioration, dirt, and neglect that the municipality exhibits, especially the image presented by Playa Blanca, where the accumulation of garbage and the neglect of the environment have become a constant in the face of the passivity of the UPY government group, headed by Mayor Óscar Noda.
Thus, the secretary of the Yaiza CC Local Committee, Mateo Ramón, laments "the absolute neglect that is perceived in every corner of the municipality, from the generalized deterioration of the palm grove throughout, to the dirtiness of the streets of one of the most important tourist towns on the Island, such as Playa Blanca, full of garbage day in and day out and projecting a pitiful image for both residents and visitors."
As an example, he cites streets such as "Lomo del Cura and La Pileta in Yaiza, which are unpaved despite repeated demands from residents, while in Montaña Almurcia, to give another example, there are broken streetlights, fallen walls and completely neglected areas, without the UPY councilors in the City Council doing anything."
Ineffective management
In this regard, Mateo Ramón believes that "the deterioration of street furniture, the lack of maintenance, and the widespread dirtiness of the municipality's public spaces reflect an ineffective and disinterested management by the municipal government group."
"It is incomprehensible that while the mayor boasts of the municipal surplus, residents have to live with streets full of garbage, broken streetlights, and degraded public spaces. Public resources should be used to improve the quality of life of citizens, not to fatten the City Council's accounts," says the local secretary.
CC Yaiza insists that responsible management is not about accumulating money in banks, but about investing it in essential services such as cleaning, maintenance, and the security of public spaces. "Yaiza needs real solutions, not excuses or propaganda," concludes Mateo Ramón.
