The company in charge of the integral cycle management of water in Lanzarote, Canal Gestión Lanzarote, seeks to achieve before the Courts the increase in rates of the supply that local institutions have denied.

The Ministry of Economy, Industry, Commerce and Self-Employed of the Government of the Canary Islands has announced that it will send to the Contentious-Administrative Chamber of the Superior Court of Justice of the Canary Islands the administrative file in which the Vice-Ministry of Consumption rejected modifying the rates of Lanzarote and La Graciosa, at the request of Canal Gestión,

In an announcement published in the Official Gazette of the Canary Islands (BOC), those who appear as interested in the appeal are summoned so that they can appear before the Chamber of the Second Section of the TSJC and appear in the case.

The Vice-Ministry rejected the increase in rates on October 16, relying on a report from the Canary Islands Price Commission. As reported by the Cabildo of Lanzarote in a statement, it understood that this increase was "inappropriate" due to the "high volume of losses in the network."

After that, last November the General Assembly of the Water Consortium of Lanzarote unanimously rejected the increase in rates planned by the subsidiary company of Canal Isabel II of Madrid for the years 2019 and 2024.
