The Cabildo of Lanzarote and La Graciosa, through the Area of Social Welfare and Inclusion, has officially opened the application period this Thursday for the call for grants for social intervention projects during the 2026 fiscal year. The initiative has been processed under a competitive bidding system.
The president of the Cabildo, Oswaldo Betancort, stated that “behind every social project there are people who sustain the most human network of Lanzarote and La Graciosa, which makes these grants a direct economic engine so that third-sector associations have the real stability that allows them to continue caring for our own”.
The call was published in the Official Provincial Gazette number 85 of July 17 and, after its subsequent correction in the BOP number 87 of July 22, 2026, and also in the Announcements Board of the Electronic Headquarters of the island corporation. Non-profit entities will have a period of 20 business days (counting from the day after their official publication) to register their proposals, that is, until August 14.
The regulatory bases determine that the maximum amount per beneficiary will not exceed 100% of the subsidizable budget, establishing a maximum limit of 90,000.00 euros per project. Each group may submit a maximum of three projects or activities. Likewise, investment expenses may not exceed 5% of the granted amount, and must be exclusively for the acquisition of goods essential for the service.
The execution period for the proposals covers actions, whether already developed or to be developed, between January 1, 2026, and June 30, 2027. In the case of continuity projects under the same name as the previous year, the deadlines may not overlap, and the new edition must begin the day after the previous one ends.
The grants aim to subsidize actions integrated into the priority areas of childhood and family, equality and diversity, addictions, disability and dependency, social inclusion and homeless populations, immigration, and other projects with a high impact on social intervention. All applications must be managed obligatorily electronically through the Electronic Headquarters of the Cabildo.
This line of funding seeks to consolidate the island's commitment to the third sector, enabling associations to have stable resources to maintain their staff and direct care programs. Through this technical and economic support, the island institution strengthens the public protection network by collaborating closely with the groups that best know the basic needs of the population.
