A great success in participation that had the Urban Park of Playa Honda as the epicenter of leisure this weekend, which since last Friday and throughout Saturday concentrated a novel gastronomic and leisure proposal included in the programming of the Playa Honda 2026 Festivals, promoted by the Festejos and Comercio departments of the San Bartolomé City Council.
The mayor of San Bartolomé, Isidro Pérez, has confirmed that “this initiative, designed to revitalize this enclave of the municipality on the occasion of its festivals, has exceeded all expectations. The Urban Park has been the best public space to carry it out, facilitating mobility in this space, the distribution of participating establishments, and the areas for recreation and music”.
In this regard, Pérez has congratulated not only the Festejos and Comercio departments but also the organization of Burger Fest Canarias and all the professionals involved in security, cleaning, and setup to guarantee the perfect development of this leisure proposal. “It has been one of the most successful initiatives of this term, and I am sure that everyone who attended has undoubtedly enjoyed a different experience in San Bartolomé,” concludes Mayor Isidro Pérez.
Having 15 establishments and restaurants from Lanzarote and other points of the islands dedicated to serving gourmet burgers has been an important draw for those who came to Playa Honda this weekend, with vegan, gluten-free, sweet, and craft beer options to suit all tastes.
There was also time to recognize the best burgers of this first edition in Lanzarote, with Mostazza taking first prize; Smash Hub with the second, and Mamut with the bronze medal, who also took home the public's prize.
The councilors for Festejos, Estefanía Luzardo, and Comercio, Alma González, have highlighted the joint work carried out by their teams to promote a leisure experience linked to gastronomic products, while also allowing for the revitalization of the festival program with a new activity that Playa Honda celebrates this September to bid farewell to the summer.
