The president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote and parliamentarian of the Canarian Coalition, Oswaldo Betancort, has issued a press release this Thursday to thank the still island secretary of CC, Migdalia Machín, and the organization secretary of the party, Echedey Eugenio, for their work at the head of the formation these years. Both have announced in a press conference that they will not run for re-election.
Betancort highlighted that both leaders have worked on "internal cohesion, the capacity for consensus and dialogue with other political forces, as well as the commitment, tireless dedication to the party and the defense of the interests of the people of Lanzarote and Graciosa in these last nine years."
Thus, Betancort has valued the leadership of Migdalia Machín "in a stage that has not always been easy, but that has been deeply marked by dialogue with other formations, in the search for consensus and the ability to unite around the values that define the Canarian Coalition."
The parliamentarian has also indicated that "they have been years of rigorous work and loyal commitment to this party." Betancort has indicated that Machín has known how to "maintain internal cohesion, renew the illusion" of the bases and "place the nationalist project as a reference on the island."
In addition, he has also indicated that Echedey Eugenio is "a key piece in this stage and an indispensable pillar." He thanked the current organization secretary for "his involvement, his experience, his dedication always in favor of a collective project by and for Lanzarote, La Graciosa and the Canary Islands."
Finally, he indicated that, "as a fellow member and affiliate of CC, I can only express my respect, gratitude and recognition for everything they have given." To which he added, "The Canarian Coalition in Lanzarote is still alive, strong and prepared to continue building a future thanks, to a large extent, to the work and dedication of Migdalia Machín and Echedey Eugenio."
