The Tías City Council has responded this Wednesday to the public complaint made by Amado Vizcaíno, spokesperson for Coalición Canaria in the municipality, after assuring that "an unemployed person was covertly paid from municipal coffers and occupied a public office daily”.
Tomás Silvera, councilor for Finance of the Tías City Council, has assured that this person "worked in one of the associations that works with us". In this regard, he has clarified that he did not work in the City Council, but in the association itself, which receives nominated subsidies from the council.
Thus, he has defended that the City Council does not have to know the labor situation of each of the workers of all the associations.
Furthermore, he has stressed that "fortunately, in the Tías City Council there is an anti-harassment protocol that I approved because previously, when Amado Vizcaíno was deputy mayor, it did not exist".
"Now this comes to light because the workers have guarantees and when Amado Vizcaíno was deputy mayor there were none," he continued.
