Attention to traffic cuts in Arrecife due to the construction of the new land outfall of the WWTP

The Arrecife City Council, through the Department of Mobility and Transport, has reported that, due to the execution of one of the sections of the new land outfall included in the Expansion and Improvement Project of the Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) of Arrecife, important modifications will be carried out in the road traffic of the city.

These actions aim to improve the hydraulic capacity of the current outfall that transports the treated water from the WWTP, a work considered key for the sustainable development of the municipality.

The works will begin in the early morning of Sunday, April 20 to Monday, April 21 and, according to the company responsible for its execution, will last approximately ten weeks.

Affected streets

During this period, the following roads will be affected:

Rambla Medular, in the section between the Open Mall roundabout and the Ciudad Deportiva roundabout.

Calle José Pereyra Galviaty, between Rambla Medular and Calle Vicente Guerra.

Calle Andalucía, from José Pereyra Galviaty to Calle La Fermina.

Calle Ginés de La Hoz, between Salvador Allende and Rambla Medular.

Roundabout of the Lanzarote Sports City.

Changes in circulation

During the time that the works last, detours and modifications will be established in the directions of circulation, as well as access restrictions in some streets. In the case of Calle La Fermina, access will be limited only to public service vehicles and buses.

Likewise, the temporary relocation of bus and taxi stops will be carried out, especially in the area in front of the bus station, in order to guarantee the public transport service.

The City Council has confirmed that pedestrian traffic will be guaranteed at all times, and that informative signs will be installed at strategic points to guide both drivers and pedestrians on the new routes and detours.

From the consistory, citizen collaboration is requested and understanding is requested for the inconvenience that these actions may cause, remembering that this is an essential intervention for the development and sustainability of the municipality.
