The Arrecife City Council informs of new diversions and traffic restrictions in the Vía Medular area, at the height of the roundabout near the Valterra Health Center and the PCAm gas station.
From the Departments of Mobility and Transport, led by councilor Mario González Altube, and Public Works, under the direct leadership of mayor Yonathan de León, drivers are asked to avoid circulating through Vía Medular, and as an alternative, to make their journeys via alternative routes, advisably the Arrecife Ring Road.
The Arrecife City Council has underway important works to install the new stormwater drainage network in several critical areas of Arrecife, including the one located in the Puerto de Naos area. During this term, works are being carried out with an investment of close to 5 million euros to install a stormwater drainage network in the city, in areas that until now were prone to flooding.
In the key Vía Medular, all the new pipes for the stormwater drainage network are being installed underground. Work is being accelerated in these summer months to minimize the effects on traffic as fewer vehicles circulate during this summer period through the capital of Lanzarote.
The new closures and diversions have focused since this week on the intersection of Vía Medular with Pérez Galdós street and Carretera a Los Mármoles. Informative signs and barriers with alternative diversions have been placed.
Mayor Yonathan de León requests the collaboration of residents and businesses near the construction area, and especially of drivers. The mayor emphasizes that the works are necessary and that those carried out underground cause more inconvenience and disruption in the city. The Arrecife City Council has planned the execution of the different works so that their development affects traffic as little as possible, and causes less inconvenience to residents.
