The Popular Party of Lanzarote has celebrated this Saturday the different local assemblies in which Astrid Pérez Batista has been elected as the sole candidate for the presidency of the party after receiving the support of 90.5% of the members (435 votes) compared to 9.5% obtained by Saray Rodríguez Arrocha (45 votes).
Throughout the election day, from 9 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., the members of the different municipalities, who were up to date with their payments and met the requirements of the Regulations of the Extraordinary Island Congress, went to the polls set up in the three electoral headquarters to cast their vote for one of the two candidacies for the presidency, that of Astrid Pérez and that of Saray Rodríguez.
The assemblies have been held in person and for the first time the members of the island of La Graciosa have been able to exercise their right to vote directly in the ballot box set up in the parish hall of Caleta de Sebo. The rest of the municipalities have been distributed between the electoral headquarters of Yaiza and Arrecife.
After the scrutiny of the votes cast, the Organizing Committee of the 9th Extraordinary Island Congress has reported the results of each of the assemblies:

Once the votes were counted, the COC proclaimed before the Congress the candidate Astrid Pérez Batista as the sole candidate for the Island Presidency of the Popular Party of Lanzarote.
