The Art, Culture and Tourism Centers have published on the public sector contracting platform the announcement and specifications of the tender for the asphalting and paving of the parking lot and the service road of the International Museum of Contemporary Art, MIAC- Castillo de San José.
The passage of the years, direct exposure to the sun, proximity to the sea and the influx of vehicles have deteriorated the pavement, making this intervention necessary, the first of this nature to be carried out comprehensively since the International Museum of Contemporary Art was inaugurated in December 1976.
With an estimated value of "88,689.73 euros" charged to the 'Degraded Spaces' program of the FDCAN, the intervention has the objectives of "correcting the existing deficiencies to increase the safety of drivers and pedestrians and maintain the facilities at the level they deserve", said the counselor of the Tourist Centers, Ángel Vázquez.
The vice president and head of Public Works of the Cabildo de Lanzarote, Jacobo Medina, said for his part that this intervention "responds to a historical demand of visitors to the Castillo de San José". "We continue with the plan to rebuild the island's economy through public works, tidying up and transforming the island's places."
The works will consist of cleaning the surface to be treated; the "milling of the edges of the road with the paved areas to prevent the new slope from exceeding the adjacent edges; the cutting of the pavement at the junctions between deteriorated surfaces to generate more cleanliness in the union; the adhesion watering and, finally, the asphalting of the planned streets with 5 centimeters of thickness".
Those interested can submit their proposals until 11:59 p.m. on April 22.
