The City Council will take to the plenary session this Friday the transfer from the Arrecife City Council to the Cabildo of a property plot of 15,260 square meters for the construction of the "long-awaited" Lanzarote Conference Center.

In this sense, the nationalist formation highlights that "after almost 20 years of waiting, Arrecife will have an island auditorium up to the level that the third most important city in the Canary Islands deserves", and also applauds that "the initiative started in its day by Coalición Canaria and will now be possible thanks to Coalición Canaria as well."

In this regard, they recall from CC that it was the nationalist Manuel Fajardo Feo "who - after acceding to the position of Minister of Tourism of the Government of the Canary Islands in 2005, and coinciding with the presidency in the Cabildo of Lanzarote of the also nationalist Inés Rojas, took the first steps for the construction" of the Conference Center in the capital of Lanzarote.

"And it will be now, almost two decades later, when thanks to the work carried out by the municipal group of CC", highlights its spokesperson, Echedey Eugenio, "the City Council will address in one of the first plenary sessions held by the Corporation in this mandate for the transfer of a plot of its property for the construction of the island auditorium in the vicinity of the Cabildo."

On the other hand, Coalición Canaria regrets that "the PSOE is the only political party present in the Arrecife City Council that has not voted in favor of this transfer of municipal land for the construction of the Conference Center, by abstaining in the vote carried out in the Urban Planning Commission held this Tuesday in the capital Consistory."
