The Arrecife City Council will "take a further step in reducing the tax burden on residents" and will also do so by "promoting the use of renewable energies for self-consumption through a bonus on the Property Tax (IBI) bill for those homes that are self-sufficient in energy."
The mayor points out that "one of the priorities of her government has been to reduce taxes to alleviate the tax burden on citizens". “Now, for the first time in Arrecife, we are introducing new green tax cuts, incentivizing and promoting renewable energies and promoting the use of solar thermal and electrical energy in the city's homes.”
The measure, which will first "be approved in full session and applied to payments in 2024", contemplates two types of bonus: 30% for residential buildings that have solar energy electrical utilization systems for self-consumption, and 20% for buildings that are equipped with solar thermal utilization systems and cataloged with category A in the energy efficiency certificate.
"In both cases, the tax benefit will have a maximum duration of 5 years from the year in which they are requested for the first time." The application of this bonus "will be conditional" on the facilities for the production of heat "including collectors that have the corresponding approval by the competent Administration", announces the City Council.
"We are convinced that lowering the tax burden is the best way in which we can contribute to the pockets of taxpayers"
The mayor of the capital emphasizes that "the Municipal Government has fulfilled the commitment acquired at the beginning of the mandate to reduce taxes for citizens." “We have done it because we are convinced that lowering the tax burden is the best way in which we can contribute to ensuring that the money is where it really should be, which is in the pockets of taxpayers,” thus recognizing her commitment to the municipality.
