Arrecife restores the bathrooms of the Theme Park along with the new family leisure area

The Arrecife City Council will reopen this Thursday the restrooms installed in the Arrecife Theme Park. The council has reported that these restrooms were closed and in a state of abandonment after the administrative concession from Costas to occupy the land was lost. 

The mayor of Arrecife and head of Public Works for the council, Yonathan de León, has allocated different crews of municipal workers to repair, adapt, and clean up this public space. Thus, the City Council has already concluded the comprehensive rehabilitation works on the restrooms and improved the surrounding plaza. 

From this Thursday, the public restroom area, including an accessible restroom, will be reopened for public use, by both residents and visitors. These restrooms are located in the vicinity of the Bus Interchange, and next to the new public terrace that the City Council is inaugurating for family enjoyment and leisure. Furthermore, from now on, these restrooms will also serve users of the renovated playground. 

The mayor of Arrecife has pointed out that this "is just the recovery of some restrooms, but it reflects the PSOE's legacy that we are still dragging in many areas of the city." This is how de León emphasized it in a meeting held with the press in the Theme Park itself to report on the improvement works in this area of the city. At that meeting with the press, the mayor showed images of the state of abandonment and deterioration of the restrooms, and other areas of the park, since 2018 with the loss of the concession. 

“There are many improvements for this enclave by the sea, to which will be added the tender in 2027 of the great visionary project that we have approved for this entire large area of the Theme Park with the creation of a large green lung and many new public use areas. In Arrecife, there are many deficiencies and needs for maintenance and reforms in many public spaces, in many neighborhoods of Arrecife. I have the ideas, the plans, and the drive to continue transforming the city,” concluded the first mayor of the capital of Lanzarote.
