The Department of Urban Planning of the Arrecife City Council, led by Maciot Cabrera, promotes bonuses in the payment of the Tax on Constructions, Installations and Works (ICIO), in order to encourage sustainable and accessible urban development in the municipality.

Thus, as the mayor explains, a bonus of 50% in the ICIO for constructions, installations and works related to self-built homes has begun to be granted, thus facilitating access to housing for citizens.

A bonus of 50% is also applied to those projects that are declared of special interest or municipal utility, whether for social, cultural, historical-artistic reasons or to promote employment, provided that said declaration is approved by the Plenary of the Corporation.

Another highlight is the 90% bonus for works aimed at improving accessibility and habitability for people with disabilities, whether in individual homes or in buildings. This includes internal reforms to adapt homes to the needs of residents with reduced mobility, as well as modifications to the common elements of buildings to ensure barrier-free access.

Maciot Cabrera emphasizes the importance of these measures for the municipality, explaining that “the promotion of these bonuses represents our firm commitment to a more inclusive and sustainable urban development.”

“We want to ensure that the citizens of Arrecife, especially those who need it most, can benefit from these tax advantages. These bonuses are also an incentive to invest in projects that provide real value,” adds the mayor.

Cabrera emphasizes that these measures are part of a broader strategy to promote economic and social growth in Arrecife, ensuring that the city continues to move towards a future where urban development and the well-being of its inhabitants go hand in hand.

For more information on how to access these bonuses, interested parties can visit the City Council website or go directly to the Department of Urban Planning.
